    While in the church, shoulders should be covered. We recommend bringing a light shawl or scarf to the ceremony if you are planning on wearing a dress. Water taxis will be arranged for transport to the reception at NH Collection Venezia Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi following the ceremony.

    Dinner will be served at the reception and consist of three courses of traditional Venetian cuisine from the sea. If you have allergies or have an aversion to fish, please contact Alessandra or Spencer and we will add you to the alternate menu option.

Dress Code: Semi-Formal / Dressy Casual

Our wedding will be in warm weather, so please dress accordingly. Breathable fabrics are encouraged.

  • Ladies: Flowy dresses, midi or maxi skirts, or dressy jumpsuits.

  • Gentlemen: Dress pants or chinos with a button-down shirt. A jacket is optional, and ties are not required. 

Getting There

Travel

ARRIVAL

For guests who are flying in, the most convenient airport is Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE). From the airport, there are a few options to reach Venice:

    1.    Alilaguna Water Bus: The Alilaguna water bus takes about 60-90 minutes, depending on your stop. Interconnecting routes ensure that you can reach any location in the city in minutes from the various stops. Tickets can be purchased at the airport or online.

    2.    Bus and Vaporetto: You can take the ATVO or ACTV airport bus to Piazzale Roma (the main bus terminal in Venice), which takes about 20-30 minutes. From there, hop on a vaporetto (water bus) to reach your final destination.

    3.    Private water taxi: This is the fastest way to get into Venice but also the most expensive.

Another option is to fly into Milan. If you’re flying into Milan, taking the train to Venice is the fastest and most convenient option, which takes about 3 hours.

Getting around venice

The easiest and most affordable way to get around Venice is via the vaporetto (water bus) system. Vaporettos run on set routes along the Grand Canal, around the lagoon, and to nearby islands like Murano, Burano, and Lido. Tickets can be purchased at ACTV ticket booths, machines, or online, with options for single rides or multi-day passes for unlimited travel. ACCOMMODations

For those unfamiliar with Venice, we recommend staying in Cannaregio, the neighborhood where our wedding venue is located. Cannaregio is one of the more quiet and authentic neighborhoods in Venice, but still within easy reach of the main attractions. If you would like to stay at the hotel where the venue is located, you can book a room at NH Collection Venezia Grand Hotel Palazzo dei Dogi. Other options we would recommend in Cannaregio in are listed below.​​​
